  • VCF 4.x → VCF 5.2 → VCF 9.1: With no direct upgrade from VCF 4.x to 9.1, customers must first upgrade to VCF 5.2, then proceed to 9.1.

This is in no way a “click next and you’re done” type of procedure. While it may seem like a minor upgrade, it requires a defined order across management components, with prechecks and planning taking place before anything is applied. Dependent products must be validated for compatibility and, in some cases, upgraded in the correct sequence before or during the main VCF 9.1 workflow. A post validation process is essential to confirm health, inventory accuracy, and component status.
